Tips to Strengthen Your Application
- Clearly show academic excellence with specific grades, awards or research experience that demonstrate First Class potential.
- Connect your chosen Master’s programme directly to challenges in your home country or region (health, education, climate, governance, technology, etc.).
- Write a realistic and personal development plan. The committee wants to see how you will use the degree after graduation.
- Apply early. Course application timelines vary, so leave enough time to secure an offer before the scholarship shortlisting stage.
Final Note
The University of Glasgow African Excellence Award removes the tuition barrier for strong African candidates who want to study at a world-class institution and return home to create impact. With only 16 awards available, competition is high, but a well-prepared application that combines academic strength with a clear vision for contribution stands a real chance.
If you meet the academic standard and have a genuine plan for how a Glasgow Master’s will help you serve your community, start your course application now and aim to submit the scholarship form well before 31 March 2026.
